2020 Student Competition
After a successful design competition last year Allied Glass, have once again teamed up with the Retail Institute, Leeds Beckett University and on this occasion Slingsby Gin to run a design competition for the Leeds Beckett design students.
Students have been given a brief which asks them to redesign the existing Slingsby bottle, branding and secondary packaging. There are some parameters which they need to adhere to including the footprint staying the same and the neck and opening must also remain to allow the existing stopper solution to work.
Under the guidance of academic tutors, the students will develop their design concepts and showcase their creative work for an adjudication event in March. The judging panel will consist of representatives from Slingsby Gin, The Retail Institute and Leeds Becket University.
The level of work created by all the students last year when they designed a container for The Lakes Distillery was impressive, Chris Todd, Allied’s Innovation Manager, said:
“It was great to see the students creating not just the packaging but a brand identity and story with the ideas presented, we are expecting the same quality of work from this years’ students and are excited to see what they come up with.”
