Kingdom Bottle Case Study
BackgroundThe 450ml bottle for The Edrington Group's Kingdom Scotch whisky was designed specifically for the image conscious Korean market. As the Kingdom brand targets all the top-end night clubs in Seoul and other Korean cities, the design had to be in keeping with this ultra-sophisticated retail environment and it had to reflect the high value that wealthy consumers would pay for it.
Design and Manufacture
From a design and production stance, this beautiful bottle was very challenging to produce, primarily due to the complexity of the intricate curves and facets and the difficulty of achieving good glass distribution for such an extreme shape. The latest 3d design software was used to generate the complex mould cavity, ensuring the correct shape and displacement. Extended sampling was necessary to ensure adequate glass distribution, particularly within the base of the container.
The Package
his is a premium, original and crafted - decanter style bottle, which outperforms its main competitors in customer research. And, although a very elaborate bottle, this container has continually successfully run down Edrington's high speed filling lines, from the outset the bottling started very smoothly with no major handling problems.
